Bios
Susanne Harrington, Principal
With more than eighteeen years of experience, Susanne has an extensive background in publishing, corporate communication, identity, environmental design, and wayfinding. She has held design and creative director positions at VSA Partners in Chicago, Bird Design in Los Angeles, and fd2s inc. in Austin.
Her clients have included Harley-Davidson, H-E-B, Disney, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of California San Francisco Medical Center, and retail developments worldwide.
Susanne earned a BFA in Visual Communication from the University of Kansas. Her identity work is included in the archives of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and she is the recipient of several honors from the Society for Environmental Graphic Design.
Shawn Harrington, Principal
Shawn’s career spans twenty years as an art director, designer, and teaching professional. He co-founded Asterisk Group with his wife, Susanne, in 1999 after holding art director positions at Tocquigny Advertising + Design, HIXO, and SicolaMartin, all in Austin, as well as ImageMatrix, Dallas.
He has completed projects for non-profit organizations, Fortune 500 companies including Dell, Motorola, AMD, NEC, IBM, PepsiCo, and Cisco, as well as work for clients in education, aerospace, retail, healthcare, public relations, real estate, and technology.
Shawn received a BFA in Visual Communications from the University of North Texas and is a lecturer of Communication Design at Texas State University.
