Nueces River Authority

Central and South Texas

We worked with the Nueces River Authority to create a bi-lingual
campaign focused on educating Texas Hill Country river users about
the harmful and oftentimes dangerous effects of litter.

  • The identity, delivered in symbolic short-hand, places the buck squarely on the individual. The program was a winner of a TCEQ 2008 Texas Environmental Excellence Award for Education and could soon be adapted along Texas' coast and bays.
  • Posters were distributed to local stakeholders for placement at prominent river locations. Impact was gained by showing the culprit (litter) at it’s ugliest.

  • Branded river litter bags are handed out to river visitors when possible. To date, more than 30,000 have been distributed. Plenty of room for cans, bottles… and chicken wings… and diapers…
  • Outdoor advertising was limited but effective in reaching the general public.
  • Applications of the logo were endless. In the river itself...
  • On the a rock in citrus peel...
  • And, coming soon to a beach near you. Location: Texas Gulf coast
