Vervano Sustainable Modern Furnishings

Austin, Texas

For Austin-based interior design firm Laura Britt Design, we created an identity and product launch materials in support of her new line of sustainably-made furnishings for home and office.

  • Laura Britt identified a market for modern, environmentally friendly furnishings for her own projects, and worked with her own team of designers to fill that need. She asked for our help to brand and market her offering to the public — and to her own design-savvy interior design trade.
  • We worked with Laura and writer Teresa Elliott on naming and tag line, then began identity development with concepts that included monograms, symbols, and typographic approaches.
  • The final logo is a combination of sleek and airy typography with a monogram built with a simple Gestalt principle. The V utilizes part of a classic serif letterform and an iconic eco leaf. We standardized vertical and horizontal orientations for various applications.
  • Early in the project, the client expressed a desire to visually link the Vervano identity to that of her interior design firm. The Laura Britt Design logo (bottom left, by another designer), can be used with the Vervano logo to reinforce the relationship of the two entities.
  • Business cards make use of furniture renderings and the addition of a pretty serif typeface.
  • A temporary splash page at vervano.com directs viewers to a module within the existing Laura Britt Design.com site. Work continues on a full-scale site, including studio photography of production samples.
  • The Vervano product module (within the existing Laura Britt Design site, by others) previews the collection for colleagues and friends. A strong positioning statement introduces the line in the passionate language of a manifesto.
  • While the complete collection was still in fabrication and testing, we used renderings of the pieces in neutral fabrics that put the emphasis on the elegant, modern forms.
  • We helped the client create and utilize social media channels to generate buzz in anticipation of the official unveiling of production samples at the Austin Green Living Expo.
  • An economically-produced postcard served multiple needs as a trade show takeaway, an oversized business card, and an announcement to clients and colleagues.
